We are proud to present Transitions, an exhibition that explores the complex nature of transition through works by prominent artists from Cuba and the former Yugoslavia curated by Liatna Rodríguez and Tijana Mišković. Rather than presenting transition as a straightforward progression from point A to point B, this exhibition views it as a nuanced process that defies simple definitions, inviting reflections on identity, memory, and resilience. By uniting artists across generations and geographies, Transitions highlights the profound impacts of political transitions on identity and culture across borders.
Artists showcased in Transitions include Antonia Eiriz (CU), Sanja Iveković (HR), Luis Gómez (CU), Nada Prlja (MK/DK), Ismar Čirkinagić (BA/DK), Ana Pavlović (RS/DK), Levi Orta (CU), and Luis López-Chávez (CU). Through diverse media, these artists illuminate varied aspects of transition, from social resistance and political upheaval to deeply personal stories of migration and self-identity.
